Degrees Of Separation

It's has been a few weeks now since swine flu officially became a Pandemic. It's also now over two months since I first posted on this site and whilst 37 days have past, as I didn't post every day, I feel that continuing to post would be useful.

Over the past few days, I've been told of people that I know who have contracted swine flu, and others who either work with or go to school with someone who has been infected.

Being in London, one of the high infection areas in the UK, means that this was bound to happen sooner or later, but I am surprised at how little information seems to be being circulated about where infections have or are occuring in neighbourhoods, schools and places where people meet.

Currently, swine flu information is available on many government and NHS websites, so if you haven't already found the information you need, then please do go look there.

If you're wondering about the swine flu symptoms that you should be looking out for, information about swine flu symptions can be found here, and there is also information on people who may form part of the high risk group when it comes to infection from swine flu.

Please, please read up and protect yourself. If you place of work hasn't yet implemented any additional infection prevention protocols, then implement them yourself. Carrying tissues and using anti-bacterial cleansing gels are a good idea also.

Make sure that you cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing and throw it away when you are finished. Also wash your hands or use an anti-bacterial cleansing gel if you are not near to water.
